God Of War Laufey Star Deborah Ann Woll Is Unfazed By Online Criticism

The lead actress and star of the next entry in the God of War franchise, Debroah Ann Woll, who plays the role of Faye in God of War Laufey, shared that the online backlash and critcism surrounding her character and the game does not affect her in the slightest.

Speaking with a fan at Florida Supercon, Woll shared that not being on any social media has certainly helped her miss some of the backlash, but she knows the game is going to be excellent, and will silence all doubters.

“One, I’m not on social media, so that helps. and two, i don’t know, i feel totally unbothered because i just know {God of war laufey is} great. like, it’s okay if it’s not your cup of tea, but in no universe is it bad.”

God of War Laufey is one of the most anticipated PS5 games at the moment after it was revealed with 20 minutes of gameplay footage and June’s State of Play event. The game seeks to continue the story of God of War, but the first to not star Kratos. This game explores the life that Faye had during the events of the two Norse era games.

It is certainly good news to hear that Woll is unaffected by the haters, as any fan can see that the game is bound to be a massive success based on the record number of views on YouTube for the gameplay reveal and the fact that the God of War franchise is a tentpole PlayStation IP, and quite possibly the most well known brand Sony has.

The game is also likely to be one of the final PlayStation games available on disc, as recently Santa Monica Studio revealed that the game will receive a physical release despite the looming January 2028 cutoff date for ending disc production.

The fact that Woll has not been affected by the backlash in any bit clearly signals that her upcoming performance as Faye may be a award-winning worthy display since she wasn’t influenced by online haters in any form. Time will tell if Santa Monica Studio produces yet another incredible God of War adventure, and a bold first of telling a story outside the perspective of Kratos.
