NxLite Raises $13.1 Million Series A And Secures $3.5 Million Debt Facility

NxLite has completed a $13.1 million Series A financing and secured a $3.5 million debt facility to expand manufacturing of its energy-efficient coatings for glass and polymer substrates. The Series A exceeded the company’s original $10 million target.

NxLite announced the first close of the round at $9.2 million in October 2025. Additional capital from new and existing investors during a 120-day second-close period brought the total to $13.1 million.

Crabtree Lane Alt led the financing, with new participation from VoLo Earth Ventures. Earth Foundry, MUUS, New Climate Ventures, ACT Venture Partners and strategic investors from the door, window and building industries also participated. Alongside the equity financing, NxLite secured a $3.5 million debt facility from RSF Social Finance.

The debt provides additional non-dilutive capital, allowing NxLite to expand operations without issuing further equity for that portion of the funding.

NxLite manufactures permanent, low-emissivity coatings designed to reduce energy consumption across glass and glass-like products.

Low-emissivity coatings limit the transfer of heat through a surface while allowing light to pass through.

These coatings can improve energy efficiency in buildings, refrigeration systems, vehicles and other products that use glass or transparent polymer materials.

NxLite’s coatings are designed to remain stable when exposed to air and can be applied to both traditional glass and lighter polymeric substrates.

The ability to coat polymer materials could help customers reduce product weight compared with conventional glass-based alternatives.

NxLite is targeting applications across windows, commercial refrigeration, transportation and other markets where manufacturers are seeking to improve thermal performance while reducing weight.

The company plans to use the new capital to increase production capacity and strengthen full-scale manufacturing at its Advanced Innovation & Manufacturing Center in Canton Township, Michigan.

Since the initial Series A close, NxLite has been adding capacity at the facility and expanding partnerships across several commercial applications.

The company said it has validated its technology, demonstrated production at full scale and secured commercial agreements and offtake commitments.

Offtake agreements give manufacturers greater visibility into future demand by establishing arrangements for customers to purchase products once production reaches agreed levels.

The financing is intended to help NxLite move from early commercial validation toward broader manufacturing and customer deployment.

NxLite also appointed Erin Sawyer to its board of directors.

Sawyer is a venture partner at VoLo Earth Ventures, where she focuses on climate technology investments across electricity, mobility, buildings and industrial markets.

She previously served as vice president of supply chain at Wrightspeed, where she led supply chain activities for electric powertrains used in heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

Sawyer also worked at Tesla as group manager of core technologies.

During her time at Tesla, she executed global sourcing strategies and supported cost reductions as the Model S and Model X platforms expanded internationally.

Her experience is expected to support NxLite as the company increases production, manages suppliers and works to shorten the timeline between commercial agreements and scaled delivery.

The combined equity financing, debt facility and board appointment provide NxLite with additional capital and operational experience as it expands its manufacturing platform.

KEY QUOTES:

“We are grateful to attract the capital and the caliber of leader joining our board in what can be a difficult financial market. Investors who have watched us de-risk manufacturing, secure commercial agreements and execute against our plan are leaning in further, with both their balance sheets and their time.”

David Mather, Chairman and CEO of NxLite

“NxLite has built a rare combination: validated technology, demonstrated manufacturing and real customers under contract. The company is positioned to capture a major opportunity in energy-efficient buildings, and the team has earned the conviction this round reflects.”

Jason Blumberg, Managing Partner at Earth Foundry and NxLite Board Member

“What stood out about NxLite was its operational maturity. They validated the technology, secured offtake agreements and demonstrated production at full scale very early in the process. Companies that get the sequencing right are rare. I’m joining to help compress the timeline from here.”
