Hospital workshop highlights AI role in advancing research
KUWAIT: The Nuclear Medicine Department at Al-Adan Hospital organized a workshop and scientific lectures on Sunday focusing on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in scientific research, featuring presentations on the latest developments and advanced applications of AI in the medical and research fields. A group of specialists highlighted how AI technologies can support scientific studies, improve efficiency and contribute to the development of healthcare services.
Director of the Ahmadi Health District Dr Ammar Al-Fadhli said the event represents an important step for healthcare professionals, as AI offers significant opportunities to advance scientific research while saving time and effort for medical staff. In a statement issued during the workshop, Al-Fadhli said the lectures reflect a modern approach in medicine and research, ultimately benefiting patients by supporting access to the latest advancements and innovations in healthcare.

Head of the Nuclear Medicine Department at Al-Adan Hospital Dr Israa Al-Qattan said AI has become an essential part of daily life due to its important role in scientific research and its ability to contribute to further progress in the field. She added that the Ministry of Health places strong emphasis on developing scientific research and adopting modern technologies to enhance healthcare services and provide the best possible care for patients.
Meanwhile, Head of Technicians and Nuclear Medicine Specialist at Al-Adan Hospital Dr Ahmed Ashour announced that the hospital has launched a smart virtual assistant for the Nuclear Medicine Department, named “Nouf and Nawaf,” to assist doctors in calculating radioactive materials, monitoring available stocks and determining required quantities. Ashour said the smart assistant will be available around the clock through WhatsApp starting next month, allowing users to submit inquiries and receive support at any time. – KUNA
