Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1 arrives July 29 with a free S-Rank Agent selector, new Lumiflux character Remielle Dan, Xbox PC support, and QoL upgrades.

Developer HoYoverse has officially confirmed that Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1, titled “The Long Goodbye,” will launch globally on July 29, 2026. Coinciding with the urban fantasy action RPG’s second anniversary, the major content update introduces new playable characters, expanded story chapters, a permanent challenge mode, platform expansions, and generous player giveaways. Alongside existing availability on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games Store, iOS, and Android, Version 3.1 marks the official debut of the game’s Microsoft Store PC edition.

New roster additions and narrative developments

The main campaign chapter in “The Long Goodbye” brings representatives from major New Eridu factions to the flying island of Roscaelifer. Proxies unexpectedly reunite with Truvia, the heiress of High Ambitions Corp., while investigating local incidents alongside Airspace Patrol Director Lindverne Sunbringer.

Combat choices expand with two new S-Rank playable Agents. Remielle Dan debuts as the game’s first Lumiflux attribute character. Operating as an S-Rank Anomaly Agent, her unique Flux mechanism dynamically synchronizes her elemental output with the attribute of the next Agent in your squad. Joining her is Sigrid, an S-Rank Ice Attack Agent, alongside the angelic-form S-Rank Bangboo, Ariel.

Permanent game modes, system tweaks, and anniversary gifts

Version 3.1 introduces a permanent game mode titled “Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel.” After a piece of experimental proxy gear accidentally draws a massive Ethereal, the Bangboo Eous is dragged into the corrupted Hollow. Players must dive into dangerous stages, gather supplies, enhance party attributes, and evacuate safely within time limits to complete a successful rescue.

There are also some quality-of-life updates coming. The custom search feature allows players to select six S-Rank Agents from eligible banners to more specifically target pulls. To add to these updates, a revamped Beginner’s Guide replaces the old Proxy Trial, providing tailored progression advice and level-up tips tied directly to account progress.

To celebrate the second anniversary, all players can claim a free limited S-Rank Agent selector, a matching signature W-Engine, 1,600 Polychromes, and 20 Signal Searches upon logging in during the update. Looking ahead, HoYoverse also confirmed that an official crossover event with Honkai: Star Rail is scheduled to launch later this winter.
