Burnout Paradise Spiritual Successor Wreckreation 2 Announced For PS5
When Tides Turn, the studio founded by Criterion Games co-founder Fiona Sperry, is currently working on Wreckreation 2 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, with a release date yet to be announced.
Speaking in a press release, Sperry commented:
Over the last six months we’ve been talking directly to players about what they want from a modern arcade driving game, and Wreckreation 2 is the result of those conversations. From handling and progression to events and world design, our community has already helped shape key aspects of the experience. We’re building this game with the players, not just for them.
Wreckreation 2 takes the form of an open-world racer where the outcome can change at the drop of a hat, be it a slam, shortcut, or takedown. Securing victory comes down to more than speed; you have to read your rivals closely, choosing the right moment to attack and fight for every position while be willing to take risks others won’t. The action takes place in Heartbreak City, where every neighbourhood has its own charter, and every road presents an opportunity to gain the advantage.
Players will find themselves battling through dense downtown streets as they test their speed on massive overhead freeways, airport runways, and towering dockyards, uncovering hidden backroads packed with pulse-pounding shortcuts.
Whether you’re battling for first place in a Race, surviving the chaos of Road Rage, hunting rivals in Marked Man, escaping Pursuits, mastering Blackspots, conquering Wreckonings or becoming the last car standing in Eliminators, there’s always another way to prove yourself.
Wreckreation 2 is coming to PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S with a release date yet to be confirmed.
