MrBeast reveals first wedding photo after refusing to turn ceremony into content

MrBeast has confirmed that he married Thea Booysen, sharing the first glimpse of a wedding he deliberately kept away from his cameras.

Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson announced the marriage on July 21 by posting a photo of the newlyweds walking away from their ceremony together.

“Mr and MrsBeast,” he captioned the image alongside a heart emoji.

The announcement came 10 days after MrBeast unexpectedly skipped his regular Saturday YouTube upload and suggested he might be getting married.

“No upload today, may or may not be getting married and a little occupied,” he wrote on July 11.

At the time, he stopped short of explicitly confirming that the ceremony was taking place. The new wedding photo confirms that he and Booysen officially tied the knot during his brief break from uploading.

MrBeast kept his wedding almost entirely off camera

Despite building his career around elaborate videos and filming most days of the month, MrBeast previously made it clear that fans would not receive a full wedding video.

“Maybe we’ll take a photo at the wedding, but no,” he told Entertainment Tonight in January when asked whether the ceremony would be filmed.

MrBeast explained that his relationship was one of the few areas of his life he intentionally kept private.

“It’s just like my whole life is on the internet. I mean, I film 28 days a month,” he said. “I’m always in front of a camera, and so, for the most part, my relationship is one of those things I just keep behind the camera.”

The single photograph shared after the wedding appears to be exactly the limited glimpse he promised fans. He also uploaded another photo to his Instagram.

The couple previously said they wanted an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family, potentially held on an island far away from the public. Booysen said they had no interest in organizing the kind of extravagant event normally associated with MrBeast’s videos.

MrBeast also revealed in 2025 that he was borrowing money from his mother to help pay for the wedding because he reinvests most of his available cash into his businesses and content.

“I personally have very little money because I reinvest everything,” he explained, adding that his company expected to spend around $250 million on content that year.

MrBeast and Booysen met in South Africa in 2022 and announced their engagement after he proposed on Christmas Day 2024.
