The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs Of The Past Expansion Will Appear At Gamescom Opening Night Live

CD Projekt RED has announced on the official The Witcher X account that Songs of the Past, the upcoming expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, will be showcased during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 on August 25, 2026.

Our Path to #gamescom 2026 starts with #OpeningNightLive. On August 25, catch a glimpse of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past during the show! Mark your calendars: watch ONL on August 25 at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 8pm CEST,” reads the post.

CDPR hasn’t revealed many details about Songs of the Past yet, with the official press release stating that it will revisit Geralt of Rivia for a new adventure and will launch in 2027 on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s in development by CDPR and Fool’s Theory. The expansion had been rumoured for some time before its announcement, with a Polish analyst firm revealing that they expect the DLC to sell around 11 million units with a price of $30.

The Witcher 3 was released for PS4, PC, and Xbox One in May 2015 and CDPR announced back in May that the game has sold 65 million copies worldwide. Looking beyond Songs of the Past, CDPR is currently working on the next brand new entry in the series, The Witcher IV, which has yet to attract a release date but the company has confirmed it won’t be out before 2027.
