Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic Remake Reportedly Could Be Re-Revealed This Year

According to leaker 100% Star Wars, the long-delayed Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic Remake from Saber Interactive could be re-revealed later this year.

“The KOTOR remake’s best-case scenario was a mid-to-late 2027 release for the 50th anniversary of Star Wars,” according to sources inside Saber. However, it noted that if the game is delayed into 2028, it would align nicely with the 25th anniversary of the original Knights of The Old Republic.

“A reveal later this year has been planned,” it adds. “Development on the game has not only been ramping up, but it’s been going extremely smoothly over the past three years since Saber started from scratch. They’ve been hiring some extremely high-end talent from across the industry and Saber is very much a unified front when it comes to the development of this game, with resources and talent being pulled from all over the company.”

While an official release date for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake has yet to be announced, Steve Allison of Saber Interactive recently indicated that the game may launch in 2028 alongside the likes of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3. The game was originally announced in 2021 and was being developed by Aspyr Media, although after a few years production shifted to Saber Interactive instead; screenshots of the cancelled Aspyr version emerged online in October last year.

The last official update on Knights of the Old Republic Remake came back in March, when Saber Interactive’s Tim Willits confirmed that the project was still in the pipeline.
