The PS5 Power Saver mode, according to known hardware leaker Moore’s Law Is Dead, is effectively a Trojan Horse of sorts that Sony is using to prepare support for the long-rumoured PS6 handheld device, known as Canis. Moore’s Law Is Dead has been a major source of info for Sony’s next-generation hardware plans. Speaking in August last year, he stated that the PS6 and its accompanying handheld are likely to launch in Fall 2027 — early 2028, with Sony kicking off manufacturing in mid-2027.
