Epson has expanded its industrial automation portfolio with the launch of a new generation of industrial robots and software solutions at Automation Expo Mumbai 2026. The company introduced the CX-A Series 6-axis robots, LS-C Series SCARA robots, RC+ 8.0 robot programming software, and showcased its SafeSense safety technology, reinforcing its focus on supporting smart manufacturing and factory automation.

The latest product range has been developed to meet the growing demand for advanced automation across manufacturing industries. The solutions are designed for applications such as precision assembly, pick-and-place operations, machine tending, material handling and parts transfer, helping manufacturers improve productivity, operational flexibility and manufacturing efficiency.

The newly launched CX-A Series enhances Epson’s portfolio of six-axis industrial robots by offering greater precision and performance for complex manufacturing tasks. The robots support payloads of up to 7 kilograms with a reach of 900 mm and are available in standard, IP67, cleanroom and electrostatic discharge (ESD) variants, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial environments.

Epson also introduced the LS-C Series SCARA robots, designed for high-speed manufacturing operations. The robots support payloads of up to 50 kilograms, offer a reach of 1,000 mm, and deliver cycle times as fast as 0.298 seconds. The new series is targeted at industries requiring rapid and accurate handling of components, including electronics, automotive, consumer goods and precision engineering.

Complementing the hardware launches is RC+ 8.0, Epson’s latest robot programming platform. The software provides an integrated environment for robot programming, simulation and system management, enabling manufacturers to simplify automation deployment and reduce implementation time. The platform supports integration with Visual Studio and C++ development environments and includes advanced capabilities such as diagnostics, OPC UA connectivity, graphical user interface development, safety functions and library-building tools to improve programming efficiency and system customisation.

At the exhibition, Epson is also demonstrating its SafeSense technology, which enhances safety during robot-human collaboration. The technology incorporates functions such as Safety Limited Speed (SLS) and Safety Limited Position (SLP), enabling robots to operate safely alongside personnel while reducing the need for extensive safety fencing in suitable applications. This helps manufacturers optimise factory layouts, improve productivity and increase operational flexibility. With more than 40 years of experience in industrial robotics and over 200,000 robotic arms installed worldwide, Epson continues to expand its automation solutions for manufacturers seeking higher efficiency and precision.
