Connecting Mexican Investors With Israel’s Venture Ecosystem

Lately, four Israeli venture capital funds Grove Ventures, lool Ventures, IL Ventures and Shoni Health Ventures visited Mexico City to engage with Mexican investors and showcase the strength of Israel’s innovation ecosystem.

The delegation reflected a growing effort to strengthen investment ties between Israel and Mexico by providing Mexican investors with direct access to experienced Israeli fund managers. Each of these funds backs a deep portfolio of high-growth companies across artificial intelligence, deep tech, cybersecurity, digital health, fintech, and enterprise technology. Their message was straightforward: Israel’s innovation ecosystem offers investment opportunities that deserve greater attention from Mexican investors.

The Value of the Delegation

Delegations bringing together multiple Israeli venture capital funds are relatively uncommon, making this visit particularly significant for Mexican investors. The main value of the delegation was access. Collectively, the four funds provide direct exposure to an ecosystem that is often difficult for international investors to access independently, given its reliance on long-term relationships, local networks and proximity to entrepreneurs.

For Mexican investors, the visit was a chance to hear directly from the people allocating capital inside one of the world’s leading technology ecosystems, rather than evaluating Israel from a distance through headlines or secondary reports. Venture capital, more than almost any other asset class, rewards investors who have real access to deal flow and fund managers — and this delegation was, in effect, an invitation into that network.

Why These Funds, and Why Now

The timing of the visit lines up with a broader shift already underway: Mexican LPs increasingly diversifying beyond domestic real estate, infrastructure, and public equities toward global venture and private technology investments. The strength of Israel’s innovation ecosystem is reflected in well-established performance indicators.

Israel, a country of just 10.2 million people, is home to roughly 7,000 startups and draws US$8 billion to US$10 billion in annual private investment, more than 75% of it from foreign sources. It holds about 10% of the world’s unicorns. Over the past decade, Israeli tech companies have generated more than US$100 billion in M&A and public offerings, with acquirers including Google, Microsoft, Intel, NVIDIA, Apple, and Amazon. More than 500 multinational corporations now operate innovation centers inside the country.

Grove Ventures, lool Ventures, IL Ventures, and Shoni Health Ventures each sit inside different corners of that ecosystem, from early-stage deep tech to health-focused venture investing, which is part of what made bringing all four to Mexico City valuable: investors got a cross-section of the market in a single visit, rather than a single fund’s narrow view of it.

Addressing the Question in the Room

Geopolitical risk was naturally part of the discussion. However, investment data suggest that Israel’s innovation ecosystem has remained resilient. Between 2022 and 2024, Israeli startups raised close to US$35 billion despite significant geopolitical changes, and multinational corporations continued expanding their R&D presence in the country. In 2025 alone, private investment into Israeli VCs and startups reached nearly US$10 billion.

The talent, intellectual property, and entrepreneurial infrastructure that underpin Israel’s technology sector continued to support innovation, company creation and investment activity despite periods of geopolitical tension.

What Comes Next

The visit of Grove Ventures, lool Ventures, IL Ventures, and Shoni Health Ventures should be read as a starting point. Some Mexican LPs are already committing capital to Israeli funds and startups, and the funds that made the trip are actively looking to deepen those relationships rather than simply raise awareness.

For investors seeking exposure to global technology markets, Israel represents an established venture ecosystem with a long track record of innovation and exits. Delegations such as this one provide an efficient way to build relationships with experienced local fund managers and better understand the market before making investment decisions.
