Rakai calls 911 to sue barber over bad haircut before police call back to issue warning
Twitch streamer Rakai called 911 during a livestream to ask how he could sue his barber for allegedly messing up his haircut, prompting police to call him back with a warning.
The 17-year-old content creator is known for his IRL streams and frequent collaborations with Kai Cenat. His popularity surged after appearing during Cenat’s Mafiathon 2, and he has since accumulated millions of followers across Twitch and other social platforms.
However, a recent haircut resulted in Rakai making an emergency call that he quickly came to regret.
During the stream, Rakai dialed 911 and muted his microphone while giving the operator his address and phone number. When asked to explain the emergency, he said he had been “chilling” while getting a haircut before his barber “messed my whole haircut up.”
“You’re calling 911 because of a haircut?” the operator asked.
“Yes,” Rakai responded.
“Is this a joke?”
Rakai insisted it was not and explained that he wanted to sue the barber. The operator told him that he would need to contact the courthouse if he wanted to pursue a lawsuit before asking how old he was.
Police call Rakai back with warning
After Rakai revealed that he was 17, the operator asked to speak with his parents. The streamer walked out of the room and returned seconds later to find that the call had ended.
However, Rakai soon received another call from his local police department. The officer warned him that he could get in trouble for calling 911 and hanging up, adding that responding officers had already been sent to his address.
Rakai repeatedly apologized and explained that he believed calling the police was the only way to begin suing his barber.
“My barber messed my cut up. I thought the only way I could sue them was if I called the cops,” he said. “Everything’s fine, sir. I don’t mean anything like that.”
The officer said he would tell the responding police that Rakai had apologized, but could not guarantee that they would no longer visit because the department already had his address.
“Tell them I’m good. I’m so sorry, sir,” Rakai responded. “That was so immature of me, sir. I really apologize.”
It is unclear whether officers ultimately arrived at the streamer’s home. Clips from the July 22 incident subsequently spread across social media as viewers reacted to the unusual emergency call.
