Transparent Budget Smartphones: The Phone (4b) is a Mid-Range Smartphone…

The Phone (4b) was introduced by Nothing as the first smartphone in its new B-series, extending the company’s transparent design language into a more affordable segment. The handset runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. Its 6.77-inch AMOLED display offers a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, and a 1,000Hz touch sampling rate. The translucent rear panel retains the brand’s signature aesthetic with a simplified Glyph Bar containing 45 mini-LEDs for notifications, charging status, and recording indicators.

The smartphone pairs a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 16MP front camera capable of recording 4K video at 30fps. The device carries a 5,200mAh battery in most markets, while the Indian version increases capacity to 6,000mAh. Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16 includes three years of Android updates and six years of security patches. The phone is available in black, white, and blue, starts at £299 for the 8GB/128GB model, and launches on July 17 in selected markets outside the United States.
