FC Pro World Championship Final – Many big names and a few surprises

It was a particularly busy day on Saturday, July 25, following the PlayStation Network outage that caused the competition to be delayed, shifting all League stage matches from Friday to the next match day.

After the bottom 12 players were knocked out, those finishing between ninth and 24th faced each other in the Round of 24 in a single-elimination bracket.

The Round of 16 brought the tournament’s biggest elimination so far. ManuBachoore’s title defence ended with a 7-5 defeat to Vejrgang, denying the Dutchman the opportunity to defend his championship. Brazilian GugaFerraz was eliminated by RvPLegend, while Nassada made another statement with a dominant 9-1 victory over DFernandes.

At the end of the day, only eight players were left: Bonanno, Nassada, Alihan, levyfinn, Nicolas99fc, HHezerS, RvP Legend, and the man of the moment, Vejrgang.

Who Are the Favourites?

Even though Vejrgang didn’t have the most dominant showing at this year’s FC Pro World Championship, the Danish player still remains the favorite to win it all. After winning the FC Pro Open and the eChampions League, Vejrgang will want to complete his collection with the most important title of the season.

Be on the watch out for his opponents, however. Aside from the Argentine players Nicolas99fc and Bonanno, who ended up the only ones undefeated in the League stage, a lot of the attention is currently on German player levyfinn, who also had a strong early phase and narrowly beat Team Falcons’ Msdossary.

The grand final will take place at 18:15 CET on Sunday, July 26. Before that, French football legend Karim Benzema will be having a showmatch at the event, going up against content creators AmineMaTue and Brak.
