Türkiye launches clean tech startup support ahead of COP31 hosting
Türkiye’s Scientific and Technological Research Council has launched new initiatives to support clean technology startups ahead of COP31, which Türkiye will host in Antalya from November 9-20. The expanded support includes funding calls and accelerator programs aimed at helping innovative ventures commercialise their technologies and attract investment.
Accelerator Programs and Funding
The initiatives build on support programs launched earlier this year, with the second phase of the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme focusing on transforming clean technology solutions into market-ready businesses. Applications for two accelerators are open until August 3, targeting startups in energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste valorisation and sustainable transportation. Winning teams will receive cash awards, with first place earning 700,000 lira.
Women-Led and Inclusive Green Transition
TÜBİTAK will also provide dedicated support for women-led clean technology startups, with winners in four categories receiving 300,000 lira each. A separate accelerator will support technology-based solutions promoting an inclusive green economy, with selected teams attending the GCIP Türkiye 2026 National Academy in September.
