Bitcoin is at $63K. Here's why I borrowed cash instead of selling BTC & missing the run to $100K.

I had 0.5 BTC worth $31,747. I needed $15,000.

Option A: I Sell BTC and miss on profits if BTC goes up

Sell 0.25 BTC to get $15,000.
Pay taxes on the sale.
BTC goes to $100K.
You missed $9,000 in gains. Gone forever.

Option B: Borrow some cash so I can't miss on Profits when BTC goes up

Put 0.5 BTC as security.
Borrow $15,000 against it. (50% of your BTC value)
Pay $40/month interest.
BTC goes to $100K.

Your 0.5 BTC is now worth $50,000.
You had the $15,000 the whole time.

Full year of interest: $480.
Gains you kept by not selling: $9,000.

Anyone else using for their BTC instead of selling?
