Ethereum: Glamsterdam upgrade combines Gloas and Amsterdam
Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade is targeted for Q4 2026 and combines the Gloas consensus upgrade with the Amsterdam execution upgrade, according to SSV Network.
The planned changes could affect how validators handle block production and how much work Ethereum processes in each slot. ePBS, Block-Level Access Lists, and state repricing are intended to address consensus coordination, access tracking, and execution costs, linking the upgrade to validator operations and network capacity.
The announcement describes a development target, not demonstrated adoption or a confirmed performance result. Its effect will depend on the final specifications and implementation of both the consensus and execution changes.
