Malwarebytes Appoints Michael Weissman To Board And Joey Klein As Senior Vice President Of Product
Malwarebytes has appointed Netspend CEO Michael Weissman to its board of directors and hired Joey Klein as Senior Vice President of Product. The appointments support Malwarebytes’ expansion from traditional malware protection into a broader consumer digital security platform covering scams, identity fraud, privacy and online threats.
Weissman brings experience building and transforming consumer businesses across financial technology, digital media and subscription services.
As CEO of Netspend, he leads a prepaid and debit payments company serving millions of consumers, including people who may be frequent targets of financial scams and identity theft.
Weissman previously served as CEO of SoundCloud and Chief Operating Officer of Vimeo. At those companies, he supported business transformation, revenue growth and subscription expansion.
He is also a partner at ForgeLight, an investment firm focused on consumer, media and technology companies.
As a director, Weissman will help guide Malwarebytes as it scales its consumer platform and develops products addressing a wider range of digital risks.
Klein joins Malwarebytes after leading product organizations at Hippo Insurance and Green Chef.
He helped scale Hippo through its transition into a publicly traded company and worked with Green Chef through its acquisition by HelloFresh.
Klein also held a product leadership role at Disney, where he managed social and mobile game teams and launched a mobile title based on Marvel’s Avengers.
At Malwarebytes, he will lead product development aimed at making digital protection easier for consumers to understand and use.
The company argues that consumer cybersecurity now involves more than detecting malicious software. Users increasingly need protection against AI-enabled fraud, impersonation, identity theft, malicious messages and other online manipulation.
Malwarebytes combines cybersecurity, privacy, identity protection and data-removal capabilities with threat research and AI-supported detection processes.
The company continues to provide free malware and scam protection tools while introducing additional paid services for more comprehensive digital protection.
