MOVA brings award-winning Z70 Ultra Roller robot vacuum to Australia with fresh-water roller mopping and 36,000Pa suction

Australia’s premium robot vacuum market continues to heat up, with AI-powered smart home brand MOVA officially launching its flagship Z70 Ultra Roller locally, bringing a host of technologies designed to solve some of the biggest frustrations owners have with robotic cleaners.

Rather than simply increasing suction or adding another spinning mop, the Z70 Ultra Roller focuses on a problem many existing robot vacuums still struggle with: cleaning floors with a mop that becomes progressively dirtier as it moves around the home.

The company’s answer is its HydroForce 2.0 fresh-water roller mopping system, which continuously washes the cleaning roller while the robot is working, helping ensure the floor is cleaned with fresh water rather than simply redistributing dirt from one room to the next.

Combined with a claimed 36,000Pa of suction, intelligent carpet protection, AI-powered navigation and obstacle avoidance, MOVA is positioning the Z70 Ultra Roller as one of the most capable premium robot vacuums currently available in Australia.

Smarter mopping, not just stronger suction

Robot vacuums have become increasingly common in Australian households over the past decade, but mopping performance has often lagged behind vacuuming.

Most robotic mops either drag a damp cloth behind the robot or use spinning pads that gradually accumulate dirt throughout a cleaning cycle. While suitable for light maintenance, they can struggle with dried spills and can potentially spread grime between rooms.

MOVA says the Z70 Ultra Roller addresses this through a four-stage cleaning cycle that continuously sprays, mops, scrapes and recovers water during operation.

Fresh water is constantly fed to the roller while dirty water is simultaneously removed, reducing cross-contamination and helping the robot maintain consistent cleaning performance across the entire home.

The system also applies 18N of downward pressure to tackle dried stains and footprints, while the roller rotates and fluffs at up to 800RPM, helping maintain even contact with hard flooring.

It’s an approach that’s closer to using a miniature powered floor scrubber than the passive mop pads found on many competing robots.

Built for Australian homes

One of the biggest practical challenges for any robot vacuum is navigating the variety of surfaces found in modern homes.

Hard floors transition to carpets, thresholds vary between rooms, furniture leaves awkward gaps, and pet hair has an uncanny ability to wrap itself around brushes.

MOVA has equipped the Z70 Ultra Roller with several technologies designed specifically to overcome those issues.

Its AutoShield system automatically lifts the roller mop by 13mm and raises the side brush when carpet is detected, while simultaneously covering the wet roller to prevent moisture being transferred onto rugs or carpet.

Meanwhile, MaxiReach 2.0 extends both the side brush and roller mop closer to walls and skirting boards, reducing the strips of dust that many robot vacuums traditionally leave around room edges.

The robot can also climb obstacles up to 9cm using StepMaster 2.0, allowing it to traverse door tracks, thicker rugs and higher thresholds that would normally stop many robotic cleaners in their tracks.

For homes with low furniture, MOVA’s retractable LiDAR system lowers itself to allow the robot to clean beneath beds, lounges and cabinets with as little as 10cm of clearance.

AI navigation takes another step forward

Artificial intelligence has become something of a marketing buzzword in consumer electronics, but robotic vacuums are one category where it delivers genuine practical benefits.

The Z70 Ultra Roller uses RGB cameras together with dual structured-light 3D sensors to identify obstacles before making navigation decisions.

The system is designed to recognise and avoid common household hazards including shoes, cables, pet bowls and toys, while an integrated LED illumination system assists navigation in darker areas such as hallways or under furniture.

The result should be fewer interruptions, fewer tangled charging cables and fewer rescue missions by the owner.

Less maintenance for owners

One of the attractions of premium robotic cleaners is reducing not only cleaning time but also the maintenance required to keep the robot operating.

MOVA’s docking station automatically washes the roller mop using water heated to 100°C before drying it with 70°C warm air, helping reduce odours and bacteria.

Dust collection is similarly automated through a 4-litre dust bag capable of providing up to 125 days of hands-free operation under typical usage conditions.

The company also includes a year’s worth of replacement consumables in the box, while backing the product with a three-year Australian warranty, one of the longer warranty periods currently offered in the premium robot vacuum category.

Award-winning design

Beyond the technology, the Z70 Ultra Roller has also attracted international recognition, receiving a 2026 Red Dot Award for Product Design.

Available in Brushed Metallic and Natural Stone Black, the robot and docking station adopt a deliberately understated aesthetic intended to blend more naturally into contemporary homes, rather than looking like another piece of utilitarian technology.

Nancy Zhang, Country Manager for MOVA ANZ, said Australian consumers increasingly expect home automation products to deliver genuine performance improvements rather than simply replacing manual tasks. “Australian households are looking for smarter cleaning solutions that do more than automate a task. They need to perform consistently, move naturally through the home and reduce the time spent managing everyday cleaning.

“The Z70 Ultra Roller brings those priorities together in a premium roller-mopping robot vacuum, combining continuous fresh-water mopping, 36,000Pa suction, intelligent carpet protection and a design made for modern homes.”

More than a single product launch

The Z70 Ultra Roller also signals MOVA’s broader ambitions in Australia.

While the company initially entered the local market through robot vacuums, it has recently expanded into robotic pool cleaners and has indicated additional smart home product categories will follow.

That reflects a wider trend across the home automation market, where manufacturers are increasingly building ecosystems spanning indoor cleaning, outdoor maintenance, kitchen appliances, air purification and personal care devices rather than standalone products.

As Australian consumers become more comfortable with connected home technologies, companies such as MOVA are betting they’ll increasingly purchase into complete smart living ecosystems instead of individual appliances.

Availability

The MOVA Z70 Ultra Roller is available now for $2,999.

The Brushed Metallic model is available through JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and Harvey Norman, while the Natural Stone Black version is available directly from MOVA Australia.

iTWire’s opinion

The premium robot vacuum market has evolved rapidly over the past few years. Simply adding more suction is no longer enough to differentiate flagship models, with manufacturers now competing on navigation intelligence, maintenance automation and, increasingly, mopping performance.

MOVA’s focus on continuous fresh-water roller cleaning is one of the more interesting developments we’ve seen recently because it addresses a genuine weakness of existing robotic mops rather than simply chasing bigger specification numbers.

At $2,999, the Z70 Ultra Roller is firmly positioned in the premium category, competing against flagship offerings from brands such as Roborock, Dreame, Ecovacs and Narwal. Whether its HydroForce roller system delivers a noticeable real-world advantage is something we’d be keen to put to the test in a full review, but on paper the technology appears to represent a meaningful step forward rather than another incremental update.

If it performs as advertised, Australia’s robot vacuum market may well have a serious premium contender.
