MSC 2026 Knockout Stage Day 1 Recap
The Knockout Stage of MLBB MSC 2026 kicked off with upper bracket winners being tested and bracket survivors making their presence known.

Day 1 gave us two amazing series, one with a stunning sweep that made their name and region once again, and the other, a back-and-forth battle of the greatest regions that showcased what the best can do.
Yangon Galacticos Posts A Warning

Few predicted Yangon Galacticos would walk away with a clean sweep against PRO Esports, but the Myanmar representatives had other plans. From the very first game, Yangon Galacticos came out guns blazing, executing an aggressive strategy that PRO Esports simply could not contain.
Their draft during the first game revolved around high-pressure picks like Freya and Guinevere, heroes that thrive in early skirmishes and snowball potential. Yangon maximized this identity perfectly, forcing constant engagements and suffocating PRO Esports before they could stabilize. The result was a dominant Game 1 that ended in just 11 minutes, immediately setting the tone for the series.
Despite attempts to regroup, PRO Esports never truly recovered from that first game loss. While they showed signs of life, especially in Game 3 where they mounted a brief fightback, it was not enough to shift the momentum towards their side. Yangon Galacticos remained composed, continuing to dictate the pace and punishing every misstep that PRO Esports players did.
The sweep itself came as a shock to many, as PRO Esports were widely expected to at least push the series to its limits given their strong performance during the group stage. Yangon Galacticos instead proved they are far more than just a regional contender, putting Myanmar once again on the radar of the strongest teams in the world.
With this performance, they have sent a clear warning to the rest of the bracket. Whoever advances from the next round between Team Falcons PH and Team Vitality will need to prepare carefully for Myanmar’s surge of strength.
Team Falcons PH Overcomes Team Vitality

The second match of the day brought a much tighter series as the sole Philippine representative, Team Falcons PH, clashed with Indonesian and home crowd favorite, Team Vitality, in a series defined by creative drafts and peak performances.
Team Falcons PH struck first with a surprising Joy pick for Kyle in Game 1. The choice immediately paid off, as Kyle dictated the tempo with high mobility and relentless pressure. Team Vitality struggled to respond, allowing Falcons PH to secure an early lead in the series.
However, Vitality quickly adapted in Game 2. A standout performance came with Emann piloting a Paquito in the gold lane, a flex became gold lane but highly an effective choice against Super Marco’s Clint. The pick allowed Vitality to match Falcons PH’s aggression by adding burst damage in team fights. This shift brought the series to a stalemate, showcasing Vitality’s resilience and drafting flexibility.
The remaining games, however, belonged to Team Falcons PH. They locked in Fanny twice, a high-risk, high-reward hero that demands high mechanical skills as Team Vitality chose to not ban her. Team Vitality attempted to counter and disrupt the pick, effectively trying on shutting down the pick.
But, it turns out… you can’t shut down the player.
In the end, Falcons PH closed out the series, proving that they can overcome even the team that sent them down the lower brackets during the group stage.
