Rawalpindi Expands E-Challan System to 14 New Locations
The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has expanded the Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s automated e-challan system to 14 more locations across the city. The move aims to improve traffic law enforcement and reduce road accidents.
Under the expanded system, high-tech cameras will detect traffic violations and automatically issue fines to offenders. This will reduce the need for traffic officials to stop vehicles manually on busy roads.
According to a police spokesperson, the camera-based system will help ensure better compliance with traffic rules while improving road safety. The automated system will also reduce the risk of collisions caused by vehicles being stopped on the roads.
Rawalpindi Expands E-Challan System to 14 New Locations
The newly covered locations include Abid Majeed Road near Army Medical College, Lane 4 on Main Peshawar Road, Raafi Mall on Main Peshawar Road, Chauhar Chowk, and Chishtia Abad Turn on Main Peshawar Road.
Traffic police have also activated cameras on Rawal Road near Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Hameed Khan Chowk on Murree Road, and Committee Chowk near Fish Market on Murree Road.
Other locations added to the e-challan network include Bohar Bazaar opposite Naaz Cinema on Murree Road, Double Road Turn at Shalimar, Dhoke Khallo near Sixth Road, and the Survey of Pakistan U-Turn on Murree Road.
Traffic police have also extended the system to Sanober City on Main Adiala Road and U-Turn Chowk near the Punjab Housing Authority on Main Adiala Road.

The traffic police have advised commuters to follow speed limits and other traffic regulations. Officials said responsible driving and compliance with traffic laws are important for creating safer roads and maintaining a better-managed traffic system in Rawalpindi.
The expansion of the automated e-challan network is part of efforts to use technology for more effective traffic monitoring and enforcement across the city.
