Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already off to a record-breaking start at the box office, beating Avengers: Endgame
It should come as no surprise that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already making waves at the box office – though the actual figure might be more of a shock.
According to Variety, the Marvel Phase 6 film has smashed Avengers: Endgame’s preview record with a massive $72 million total across Wednesday and Thursday’s preview screenings. Endgame’s record, in comparison, was $60 million.
Brand New Day now looks set for a truly massive, record-breaking opening weekend at the box office. We’ll just have to wait and see what the final figures look like, but don’t be surprised if they’re impressive.

Per Variety, the film is looking to make somewhere between $260 million and $280 million over its opening weekend. That would make it the second biggest opening ever, behind Endgame but ahead of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Other estimates peg the film at an over $300 million opening, while Sony estimates between $190 and $195 million. As for international figures, estimates are between $275 million and $300 million.
Brand New Day picks up in the aftermath of No Way Home, with an isolated Peter Parker contending with a foe no one can see and struggling with a mysterious illness that amplifies his powers.
The film is a hit with fans and critics alike so far, and our Spider-Man: Brand New Day review awards the film four stars and reads: “Taking Spidey back to web-slinging basics, Tom Holland’s fourth solo outing as Spider-Man is a blast, with personal stakes to match its evolved spectacle. It’s the Multiverse Saga’s best movie… at least until Doomsday.”
