Monthly Games Guide: August 2026 Monthly Games Guide

We may be nearing the end of the year, but game releases aren’t slowing down. August is a bit more manageable compared to the maelstrom that is September. This month players get to experience brand new worlds and beloved favorites in new ways. With Switch 2 slowly getting more games, it’s on track to become my favorite console, personally. Whether you like handheld, consoles, or PC gaming you may need to start drafting up some PTO requests to fit in all the incredible games coming this month. Prepare your wallets and schedules, let’s get into August game releases.

Beasts of Reincarnation

Kicking off the month in spectacular fashion is a game that seems to have been tailored to my specific tastes. Beast of Reincarnation takes place in the year 4026. Explore post-apocalyptic Japan as Emma, an outcast, alongside Koo, her canine companion that never leaves her side. With the last hopes of humanity riding on the shoulders of this motley duo, expect the world to be as brutal as it is breathtaking. In this single player game, players can customize their character utilizing a skill tree system as well as gear and items called spirit stones found along their journey.
