Hi everyone! 👋

Over the past few months, we've been building Shinka, a productivity app that tries to make focusing a little more fun.

Instead of using a traditional timer, you complete focus sessions to level up your creature and unlock its evolutions over time. The idea is to give you a small sense of progression that keeps you motivated without becoming distracting.

One thing I've always loved in video games is Achievements.

Not because they give rewards, but because they make progress feel tangible. Even something small becomes satisfying when you unlock it.

So I decided to bring that feeling into the productivity app I'm building.

Instead of only tracking habits or tasks, you now unlock achievements for reaching milestones.

The idea isn't to gamify everything.

It's to recreate that small dopamine hit you get when a game acknowledges your progress.

As someone who grew up playing games, I think there's a lot productivity apps can learn from game design.

I'm curious…

What game mechanic would you love to see in a productivity app?
