In Camera Editor Changing Lighting

Hello! Does anyone know why simply clicking on my iPhone in camera roll editor button would adjust the lighting and quality of my photo? I am only trying to crop my photos into a square, but the second I click the “edit” button, it changes lighting of my photos entirely! The first full size photo is the original photo on my iPhone taken using the RAW format. The second square photo is what my iPhone did when I cropped the photo. I have been trying to figure this out for weeks now to no avail! I’ve tried following all troubleshooting steps, and I just can’t figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
