“Three years ago, quantum computers were used to run tasks that could be calculated on a calculator. Today, they simulate magnetic materials,” says Mykola Maksymenko, co-founder and CEO of Haiqu. Haiqu is an American-Ukrainian quantum startup founded in 2022. In January 2026, it raised $11 million.

The quantum industry is deep tech. Investors here do not look at metrics such as ROI; instead, they bet on development—both of the product and the industry as a whole.

But the first results are already there. In May 2026, Haiqu presented an operating system for quantum computers; meanwhile, in the United States, quantum technologies were declared a national priority, and IBM pledged to invest over $10 billion in them.
