Celebration held to support local robotics teams
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Students, coaches and families gathered at Madison’s Sequoya Library on Friday to celebrate local robotics teams.
This year, three first robotics competition teams qualified for and competed at the world championship, and two first tech challenge teams placed in the top 10 in Wisconsin.
Event organizers say they created this celebration to put aside competition and recognize the hard work of all Dane County robotics teams.
“I encourage any kid or any teenager, even if they’re interested in robotics or not, to consider it as an option because for me it’s one of the coolest experiences I’ve had, and you really get to build a community with your team,” Raj Sharma, member of Phoenix Force Robotics, said. “It’s like a family.”
Organizers hope the event inspires more students to get involved in robotics and stem programs across Dane County.
