Xbox Game Pass Adds 2 Day-One Games, Including a Sci-Fi Roguelike
A July 17 update to the Xbox Game Pass catalog has introduced two new day-one titles, including sci-fi roguelike Fogpiercer. The arrivals mark the subscription service’s first day with multiple releases since mid-June 2026, signaling that the Xbox Game Pass content rollout is accelerating again after its usual early-summer slowdown.
The second game from Slovakia-based Mad Cookies Studio, Fogpiercer is a deck-building roguelike in which players command a train carrying humanity’s future. Gameplay involves choosing routes, building and upgrading compartments, and engaging in turn-based battles against enemies seeking to derail the train. The game’s science-fiction premise openly draws inspiration from Jacques Lob’s graphic novel series Snowpiercer, while its combat emphasizes careful planning and effective synergies.
A genre that has been missing from Xbox Game Pass for nine years is finally getting some love with a new title available as of July 14.
