11 Bit Studios Confirms It’s Reducing Its Workforce With 20 Employees Losing Their Jobs

11 Bit Studios, the developer behind Frostpunk, has announced that it is making reductions to its workforce with 20 employees set to lose their jobs.

Speaking with Game Developer, the studio stated that the changes are a result of the decision to “align our team structures with current project phases.”

We have been able to ensure internal transfers for the majority of our employees so they can continue their careers within the company, and are committed to ensuring that employees leaving the company receive the right support throughout this process.

Back in December 2024, the studio announced that it was cancelling the console gamer-focussed Project 8 and as a result an undisclosed number of people were being laid off. Back in April last year, the company revealed that it will be launching a new entry in the Frostpunk franchise in 2027.

In addition to the Frostpunk franchise, 11 Bit Studios has worked on numerous other titles including This War of Mine, The Alters, Anomaly: Warzone Earth, Anomaly 2, and Sleepwalker’s Journey.
