Honor on its way to challenge Huawei in wide foldable battle
Huawei has been a champion in the wide foldable phone battle for the past two years, but it seems Honor is planning to outperform Pura X Max with its own creation. The Magic phone maker is up with a broad folding device that could debut in 2027.
Seeing the ultimate form factor of the Pura X Max, many tech brands such as Apple, Samsung, and even Xiaomi are in the headlines for working on a small, wide foldable.
No doubt, Honor doesn’t want to be behind in this trend and is readying its own wide foldable that may directly challenge Huawei Pura X Max supremacy in the market.
According to the ongoing leaks, Honor is preparing a wide-fold device, which may take on the Pura X Max in terms of battery and camera specifications. Meanwhile, it could measure the same as its competitor regarding screen panels.
Details reveal that the Honor can stuff its first-ever wide folding phone with a 200MP main camera. In addition, it might use a 200MP zoom lens, taking photography to a whole new level. For comparison, Pura X Max packs 50MP imaging sensors.

The company could turn to its new camera solution supplier, ARRI, for its wide foldable and implement some really cutting-edge camera technologies into the device.
On the greener side, Honor may put a 7000mAh battery in the wide foldable. If true, that would be a real breakthrough in the clamshell folding phone market.
Honor already surprised everyone this year by featuring a 7150mAh cell pack with the Magic V6 Chinese variant. That’s the biggest battery in a foldable yet. Now the company is preparing a similar upgrade for its first-gen wide-fold handset.
Honor’s wide folding model could also be the first foldable with a 2nm chipset in the market. Thus, the company has many new strategies that can help it overtake the wide foldable game’s lead.
