After 12 years and heavy layoffs, new Elder Scrolls Online lead says the MMO is “here to stay” with extra help from Bethesda proper and “all-new experiences in Skyrim” on the way

The Elder Scrolls Online developer Zenimax Online got hit hard by the unprecedented Xbox restructuring from earlier this month, with a Microsoft filing confirming the studio lost more than 200 developers. Still, it insists its flagship title isn’t going anywhere any time soon.

In a new community letter from Elder Scrolls Online’s new game director, Nick Giacomini, who replaced longtime lead Rich Lambert, Giacomini lays out an optimistic future for the game while acknowledging “a number of organizational changes and departures of teammates who helped shape The Elder Scrolls Online.”
