AegisAI Raises $36M in Series A Funding

AegisAI, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of an email security platform empowered by autonomous AI defense agents, raised $36M in Series A funding.


The round was led by Battery Ventures with participation from Accel and Foundation Capital.

The raise brought the total amount to $49M.

The company intends to use the funds to scale its fleet of autonomous defense agents, accelerate general availability of Vanguard, its agent that hunts threats beyond the inbox, and expand enterprise go-to-market.

Founded in 2025 by Cy Khormaee and Ryan Luo, AegisAI develops proprietary large language models (LLMs) and an orchestrated network of autonomous AI agents designed to detect, analyze, and neutralize AI-powered spear phishing and business email compromise (BEC) attacks in real time.

Their platform evaluates the specific intent and identity behind suspicious messages. Their services protect enterprises across fintech, technology, and AI sectors.

Customers include Mesh, LangChain, and Lokker.
