American Industrial Partners Completes Acquisition of Honeywell Technologies’ Intelligrated Business
American Industrial Partners has completed its acquisition of Honeywell Technologies’ Warehouse and Workflow Solutions business, combining Intelligrated, Transnorm, and Trew to create an expanded warehouse automation platform serving customers across logistics, manufacturing, retail, and e-commerce.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition brings together three established providers of material handling and warehouse automation technologies under American Industrial Partners’ ownership. Intelligrated, which was acquired from Honeywell Technologies, will join Trew, an existing AIP portfolio company, while Transnorm will continue operating as a distinct business within the combined platform.
Intelligrated provides integrated warehouse automation systems, including sortation equipment, conveyor systems, palletizing technologies, robotics, warehouse software, and aftermarket services. The business employs more than 3,300 people and serves customers seeking to automate fulfillment and distribution operations.
By combining Intelligrated’s large-scale automation capabilities with Trew’s automated material handling systems and Transnorm’s conveyor and sortation technologies, AIP aims to create a more comprehensive provider of warehouse automation solutions supported by lifecycle services and software.
“We are pleased to officially welcome Intelligrated to the AIP portfolio and to begin the next chapter for Intelligrated, Trew and Transnorm,” said Murray Grainger, partner at American Industrial Partners. “These are three highly complementary businesses with strong technology, deep customer relationships, broad installed bases and talented teams. We believe bringing these platforms together creates a differentiated opportunity to serve customers across the material handling and warehouse automation markets.”
The combined company will be led by Chief Executive Officer Alfred Rebello, who said the integration will focus on leveraging the strengths of each organization while enhancing customer service and product capabilities.
“Intelligrated, Trew and Transnorm each bring meaningful strengths, talented teams and longstanding customer relationships,” Rebello said. “As we bring these businesses together, our focus will be on combining the best of each organization to deliver stronger capabilities and greater value for our customers.”
AIP will continue working with Redwood Technology Ventures, whose leadership includes members of Intelligrated’s original founding team. The partnership is intended to support product innovation, operational improvements, and customer delivery as the businesses are integrated.
The acquisition expands American Industrial Partners’ presence in warehouse automation at a time when demand for automated distribution and fulfillment technologies continues to grow. E-commerce expansion, labor shortages, and increasing supply chain complexity have driven manufacturers, retailers, parcel carriers, and third-party logistics providers to invest in robotics, automated material handling systems, warehouse software, and fulfillment technologies.
Founded as an operationally focused private equity firm, American Industrial Partners manages approximately $17.8 billion in assets and specializes in industrial businesses. The firm has completed more than 145 platform and add-on acquisitions and invests primarily in corporate carve-outs, management buyouts, recapitalizations, and other complex industrial transactions.
The newly combined Intelligrated, Trew, and Transnorm platform will offer automated sortation systems, conveyors, palletizers, robotics, warehouse software, lifecycle services, and aftermarket support, positioning the business as a full-service warehouse automation provider with a broad installed base and long-standing customer relationships across North American industrial and logistics markets.
