Anicut Capital launches Rs 250 Cr seed fund to back 20 early-stage startups
Alternative investment firm Anicut Capital has launched a Rs 250 crore seed fund to invest in around 20 early-stage startups over the next three years. The fund will focus on seed and pre-Series A companies across sectors, excluding real estate.
The firm plans to invest up to $1 million in each startup and will follow up with additional capital through its growth equity platform as portfolio companies scale. The fund follows Anicut’s first seed fund launched in 2020.
According to the firm, the new fund will back startups building scalable businesses with strong unit economics and large market opportunities. It will also provide founders with post-investment support, including strategic guidance, fundraising assistance and access to its investor network.
Founded in 2015, Anicut Capital manages more than Rs 3,500 crore in assets across private credit, seed, growth equity and late-stage equity strategies.
Its portfolio includes startups across sectors such as SaaS, consumer, fintech, logistics and deeptech.
