Chaotic Cyberpunk 2077 mod makes every car move at “super sonic speeds,” and it’s terrifying: “It’s now a horror game”
The future of Cyberpunk 2077 was scary enough without thinking about being mowed down by cars moving like they’ve been shot out of a cannon. And yet, a modder has made this a reality, completely changing the experience of walking around Night City.
This particular exercise in absurdity comes from Blurbs, a streamer who specializes in making ridiculous mods. For a session with CD Projekt‘s dystopian RPG, he decided to dial up the speed on every car to be “super sonic,” and carnage ensued.
Now, whenever he tries to walk anywhere, the danger of a car just plowing itself into a building or a wall it’s going too fast to dodge is omnipresent. Silence is immediately filled by the tension of wondering where the next vehicle is going to appear from, often hearing it first, before seeing it then flipping through the air after hitting an obstacle.

“It’s now a horror game,” he writes on Twitter, with a compilation of antics his changes wrought up the city. Intersections are now even bigger death traps before, as vehicles just slam into each other with aplomb.
At one point, he decides to get into a car himself, only to find he can’t get out of the parking lot. The physics turns him into a pinball, bouncing around the walls and corners of the concrete prison of his own making, while every touch of the accelerator just makes it worse.
While yes, this is scary, it’s also hilarious. Seeing the amount of pile ups takes me back to roving through Grand Theft Auto 3 in a tank on maximum wanted level, just enjoying the chaos. Maybe that could be what Blurbs does next?
