Why Korean ETFs and Semiconductors Dominate on Binance
The turnover leader was SOXL, a triple-leveraged semiconductor index fund. It was followed by Korean funds KORU and EWY, then QQQ and SPY. Analysts highlighted two reasons:
- Leverage demand: Binance users hold about 73% of their equity portfolio in the tech sector.
- Accessibility: KORU and EWY track Korean stocks but trade during US market hours, barely overlapping with the Asian session.
Binance perpetual futures fill that gap with 24/7 pricing. In July, KORU perpetual turnover was 148% of the fund’s own trading volume: $16.16 billion versus $10.89 billion.

The Segment Is Less Than 1% of the ETF Market — But Could Grow 15x
The global ETF market hit a record $23.09 trillion. In the first half of 2026, ETF turnover exceeded $40 trillion, up 50% year-over-year. In March, monthly volume hit an all-time high of $7.8 trillion. Against that backdrop, the current $100 billion in perpetual turnover is less than 1% of March’s figure.
If the segment captures 10% of that volume, monthly turnover could hit $780 billion. At 20%, it could reach $1.56 trillion–a potential 7.8 to 15.6 times increase from current levels.

Binance Partners With STOP THE TRAFFIK to Combat Human Trafficking
Alongside its product expansion, Binance announced a partnership with STOP THE TRAFFIK to strengthen anti-money laundering efforts related to human trafficking and child exploitation. The exchange will gain access to specialized intelligence and training from the Intelligence-led Prevention Center.
The partnership aims to identify emerging criminal schemes and strengthen compliance operations–coming after a WSJ report on possible sanctions violations, which Binance denied. According to NASDAQ, human trafficking generated about $528.5 billion in illicit revenue in 2025.
