FNCS Major 2 Day 1 Recap
How does the FNCS Major 2 Day 1 results look so far? At the moment, we’ve seen the Europe region paly out its first day. We’re still waiting to see how NAC and other regions perform though. We have already seen how some of the best Fortnite players are handling things though.
In EU, Sky and Scroll are off to a fantastic start. The current Fortnite season is dominated by Sprites, but the tournament build is a bit different. With a fun completive balance, if one that feels more separated from the core Fortnite than normal. This is how the FNCS major 2 Day 1 has gone so far:
EU FNCS Major 2 Day 1
The EU FNCS Major 2 Day 1 got off to a solid start with Trooly’s team taking the win, having clocked up seven elims. Although, Solary’s Duo also managed 8. In Game 2 Swizzy and Pixie took victory with 6 elims. But Cr1nge and Twi, along with iDrop and Ghonzo occupied the top spot on the leaderboard. With consistency beating out Victory Royales. EU is a close race though, and it’s rare a winner takes form as early as the first few games.
But Game 3 is where the shape of the leaderboard really started to emerge. We saw Sky and Scroll pick up their first win. Off the back of their win at Major 1, they were the favorites in the LAN. Only really missing out due to teams making it their personal mission to deny them victory at the cost of their own games.
Eventually, Sky and Scroll had a last-minute scare off spawn that put an end to their run. But, back in the regional finals they’re showing why they’re on top in EU again. Getting back-to-back wins in Games 3 and 4.
They didn’t perform as well in the fifth game. But with 3rd place in the last game, they’ve established a really strong performance in the FNCS Major 2 EU Day 1. The FNCS results don’t show Sky and Scroll as insurmountable leaders. But if they can keep their strength up like they have in Day 1, they might have another FNCS title coming.
The final game was won by Shxrk and T3eny. Two players who dominated the Heats. They could be another Duo to watch in the FNCS Major 2 Finals over Day 2. We’ve still got six more games to come on Day 2. Things could easily be turned around. The format no longer gives double points on Sundays, but there’s room on the leaderboard for a real turnaround still.
NAC FNCS Major 2 Day 1
Over in EU, things got started with Higgs and Curve winning their first game. Higgs has been a contender for a title for a while now. Having split with Clix this season, it was a strong start and could signal one half of that Duo going on to bigger things.
We also saw a ton of teams taking advantage of the vending machines, fighting over them at times. An interesting change from past Fortnite seasons too. Game 3 saw Muz get the win, with a solo pop off in the last circle. A fantastic play that involved a tree, a ton of great shots and movement. Definitely deserving their huge points from that game. The overall leaderboard still showed Higgs leading though.
Game 4 was interesting with surge kicking in. Generally, we’re seeing FNCS major 2 Day 1 is chaotic for NAC. It’s difficult to predict which teams will come out ahead when the whole lobby seems constantly playing defensively, unable to get an inch in a lobby. Higgs and Curve slipped from 1st, but have a consistency that’s been rare so far. Getting towards the close of Day 1 though, the top 10 teams were all still just a good game away from the top spot.
A good portion of the biggest name teams under performing, like Peterbot and Pollo. They sprung to life with a last game victory, but it’s not enough to confirm a lead. There’s still a lot to play for in the second day of the FNCS Major 2 tournament. It’s going to be a fun second batch with so much still to play for.
