Fortnite Cube Sprites Release Date Explained
What are the Fortnite Cube Sprites? This is a new feature that we’re expecting to arrive in the next Fortnite update. It’ll be a brand-new variant for each of the sprites. joining Holofoil, Gold, and Galaxy as a new type of collectible. But how exactly will they work?
Chapter 7 Season 3 has gone all in on Sprites. A little collectible you can track down in each game. Giving you unique Sprite powers. But also, something to extract and collect, so you can use them in the cosmetics in the Battle Plus. Plus, the bragging rights of just having a really rare sprite. So how do the Fortnite Cube Sprites work and when is their release date going to be?
What are Fortnite Cube Sprites?
The Fortnite Cube Sprites are a brand-new addition to the roster of sprites. it’s coming in the next update. These aren’t a new type of Sprite with their own unique powers. Instead, it’ll be a new variant.
Each of the base sprites has a basic design. However, the variants apply a different pattern to them. They will appear with a new texture, but still be the same core sprites. We’ve had these as the Holofoil Sprites, Galaxy, and more. The variants tend to have much lower spawn rates. Being hard to track down outside of the Sprite events like Power Hour. The Fortnite Cube Sprites will be even trickier to find too.
They’ll be joining a loot pool of sprites that’s already pretty packed. As more and more get added to the game, it’s harder to find any single sprite. Even as spawn rates go up. With how many Fortnite Cube sprites there are, it’ll be even harder to track down.

What Won’t Get a Cube Sprite Version?
Those are the Sprites that are coming, but why aren’t some getting new Cube variants? The new Fortnite Cube Sprites variants will be coming to the vast majority of sprites, but a handful are more one-offs. For some reason, the Burnt Peanut has no variants. Batman is also not receiving all of the variants, but it is getting some of them.
This might be down to licencing reasons. Although, you’d assume that they could have gotten permission for the variants at the same time. We often don’t get super styles for Fortnite collab skins either though. So maybe Epic likes to keep these kind of styles to just the original content.
What Do the Fortnite Cube Sprites Do?
Each of the special variants adds a little extra power to the Sprite too. Like the Holofoil sprites, which make it more likely you’ll find more rare sprites on top of the actual benefit you get for just holding sprites. In the case of the Cube sprites, it’s slightly more useful than some.
When you’re running a Cube Sprite, you’ll get the overdrive effect in the storm. Which means you can sprint infinitely and have other stamina options. It’s going to be useful if you’re in the storm to extract more rare Sprites. Most experienced players don’t really get caught in the storm all that often, or without mobility.
You will be able to get the benefit of Overdrive in the storm with a Cube Sprint. But it’ll probably also make you a bit of a target. The rare sprites tend to attract other players.
Fortnite Cube Sprites Release Date
When do the Fortnite Cube Sprites actually release? They’re currently planned for our next Fortnite update. They’ll be in the game from July 23rd, which is when that’s coming. This will give you less than a month to collect them all if you want to unlock everything before the Fortnite season ends later.
There’s still another variant to come to the game too. So, you won’t get away with just tracking down the Cube Sprites. Still to come, we’ve got the Quack Sprites. A strange addition that is still a bit of a mystery. But we’ll have to find all of them before mid-August.
Thankfully, there’s some other features coming too. Fortnite Cube Sprites will come alongside stuff like the Lucky Locator. This will reveal one sprite you don’t already have. Once a new variant like this drops, a tool like that is going to be especially important for filling your collection up.
