Four Teams Secure Quarter-Finals In Thunderpick WC 2026 EU Series 2
The Playoffs of the Thunderpick WC 2026 EU Series 2 are officially underway, with four teams already securing their place in the Quarter-Finals after making winning starts in the round of sixteen. Here’s how they made it through.
First Thunderpick WC 2026 EU Series 2 Quarter-Finalists confirmed
First up was 1win, a Russian stack plus Kazakh CS:GO Major winner Qikert. They were directly invited to the Thunderpick WC 2026 EU Series 2, meaning they avoided all the Group Stage matches. But coming into this series against los kogutos, 1win looked incredibly strong, winning convincing maps on Ancient and Mirage after initially facing an overtime loss on map one of Dust2. Nothing like a reverse sweep to start the day.
From here on out, it was 2:0s all the way until the conclusion of the day. GenOne secured their place next, with notable names there including the likes of Keoz and Djoko, both of whom performed well on the day. 13:7 and 13:3 wins against ec-RUSTEC on Dust2 and Anubis respectively ensured GenOne‘s day went without any hiccups.
The third team was JiJieHao, who played out on the longest maps in CS2 history against Entropy. Map one of Ancient required 54(!) rounds to separate the teams, with a total of 30 of those coming in overtime. The final score: 28:26 – this was Counter-Strike history. Yes, it was technically a 2:0, with JiJieHao also winning map two of Cache 13:8, but it was still an absurdly long series.
After that lengthy match, Walczaki vs. Bebop had plenty to live up to. This one was certainly a little more straightforward, with a 13:7 and 13:6 Mirage and Anubis. Walczaki secured dominant first-half wins in both, setting them up to race to the finish line and reach the next stage of the Thunderpick WC 2026 EU Series 2.
