Giorobot Supplies ‘Mobile Worker’ to Samsung Electronics’ Overseas Sites, Kicking Off Global Expansion — BigGo Finance
Daegu-based autonomous mobile robot specialist Giorobot announced on the 16th that it has supplied its core product, the ‘Mobile Worker,’ to Samsung Electronics’ overseas production bases. Following the successful supply to Samsung’s domestic mass production lines in South Korea last year, the company has now expanded its supply chain to international sites, once again proving its technological prowess and reliability.
Giorobot was founded by researchers from the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST) and possesses unique capabilities to handle the entire process in-house, from robot design and manufacturing to software. Based on this integrated competency, the company is recognized for its ability to supply the advanced robots required in the field of physical artificial intelligence (AI).
The Mobile Worker delivered this time is characterized by its ability to be expanded beyond a simple autonomous mobile robot into a mobile manipulator (AMMR) combined with a robotic arm. Consequently, it can perform more complex tasks beyond simple transport operations at various manufacturing sites, drawing attention as a key piece of equipment for realizing smart factories.
In recent manufacturing and logistics settings, autonomous robots with mobility are emerging as core infrastructure responsible for transporting materials within factories and connecting processes. According to global market research firm Global Market Insights, the global autonomous mobile robot (AMR) market is projected to record a high compound annual growth rate of 17.6% from 2025 to 2034. The analysis suggests that expanding demand in logistics and e-commerce, along with manufacturing automation, will drive market growth.
Kang Tae-hoon, CEO of Giorobot, stated, “As collaborations with various global enterprises are being discussed, we expect this delivery to serve as an opportunity to expand our client base.” He emphasized, “We will continue to solidify our position as a key partner responding to our clients’ industrial transformation strategies.”
Leveraging its proprietary high-payload platform technology and intelligent control software, Giorobot has recently been supplying robots to major domestic and international corporations in succession. The strategy is to use this delivery to Samsung Electronics’ overseas bases as a stepping stone to leap forward as a company leading technological innovation in the smart factory and logistics automation market.
