Hades II Hotfix 5: Supergiant Details July 2026 Bug-Fix Patch for PC, Switch Next

Supergiant Games has rolled out another round of bug fixes for Hades II, publishing the full patch notes for what it calls Hotfix 5 on Steam. The update, part of the game’s ongoing Post-Launch Patch 2 cycle, is live now on PC, with a matching build for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions expected to arrive afterwards.

Hades II Hotfix 5 Targets Dream Dives and Duo Boon Bugs

According to the official Steam news post from Supergiant Games, the patch is squarely aimed at squashing bugs rather than introducing new content, continuing a pattern the studio has followed since its earlier hotfixes this year. This is mostly about squashing a number of different bugs, and like the previous patch, it doesn’t include any new content.

Among the confirmed fixes, Supergiant addressed an issue in the game’s Dream Dives mode where Wells of Charon no longer appearing after you visited Ephyra had been causing problems for players working through that late-game content. The patch also resolves a specific boon interaction, with the notes confirming a fix for an interaction between Weed Killer (Demeter) and Dividing Blaze (Daedalus – Flames), alongside another between Prominence Flare (Apollo) and Phase Shift (Selene) with Purification.

Combat-related bugs also got attention. Supergiant fixed cases where the projectile from Howling Soul (Hades) could detonate unexpectedly in the fight against a major boss encounter, and separately corrected a Duo Boon bug where King’s Ransom (Zeus x Hera) and Queen’s Ransom (Hera x Zeus) would sometimes not remove Duo Boons from Hera and Zeus, respectively.

Switch and Switch 2 Versions Still Waiting on the Hotfix

As with Hotfix 4 the previous month, the console rollout isn’t simultaneous with the PC release. Nintendo Everything, reporting independently on the same patch notes, confirmed that Supergiant Games has shared details about a new July 2026 update for Hades 2, which will be rolling out soon on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, rather than alongside the PC build.

That staggered pattern has become routine for the studio’s post-launch support. Nintendo Life’s coverage of the preceding Hotfix 4 noted that Supergiant itself had said those console-bound fixes would be “coming to console versions down the line”, language that mirrors how Hotfix 3 was handled a month earlier, when the developer promised those changes would also make it to Switch hardware in time.

A Steady Post-Launch Cadence Since September’s Full Release

Hades II left early access with its full release in September 2025 on PC, Mac, Switch and Switch 2, before arriving on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in April 2026. Since then, Supergiant has kept up a near-monthly hotfix rhythm — Hotfix 3 in early June, Hotfix 4 later that same month, and now Hotfix 5 in July — each one focused primarily on bug fixes rather than new mechanics or story content.

The studio’s April update was the last to bring substantial new content to the sequel, meaning three consecutive patches have now been dedicated purely to stability and balance tweaks. For a roguelike as boon- and build-dependent as Hades II, ironing out interaction bugs between specific god powers and Duo Boons matters directly to how runs play out, particularly for players chasing consistent Dream Dive clears.

Australian and New Zealand players on Switch 2 will simply need to wait for Supergiant’s console build to clear certification, as has been the case with every hotfix so far this year. PC players locally can already grab Hotfix 5 through Steam’s automatic update system, with the full technical notes published on the game’s official Steam news page for anyone chasing the finer print on boon behaviour before their next run.
