Honor Magic 9 series could skip these two flagship phone models

Honor could skip two flagship phone models from its upcoming Magic 9 series – as per a new rumor. The top-end lineup mainly contains four to five variants, two of which launch in October while the rest debut by late year. But things might change this time.

WangzaiKnowsEverything on Weibo noted that the Honor Magic 9 series can launch with three models initially and skip two phones that usually launch at the year-end.

The tipster revealed that the company could unveil the vanilla version, Pro, and a new PRO MAX variant to the Magic 9 series this year. The flagship line mainly debuts with two handsets in October: standard and Pro. Though a PRO MAX is on its way.

Following the leak, netizens started questioning which of the models won’t be a part of the Magic series. In response, Weibo’s Smart Search says that Honor will launch Standard Magic 9, Magic 9 Pro, and Magic 9 Pro Max in October 2026.

Besides, there may be no Pro Air and no RSR Porsche Design model this year. While the possibility of ditching the Pro Air is less likely as there’s just one model, the company could take this step based on the market’s feedback on its products.

Last year, the Chinese tech giant hinted that the Magic 8 RSR can be Honor’s “final pinnacle of the Porsche series” and the company may not upgrade it in the future.

Thus, there is a chance that Honor can ditch the respective phone edition as its partnership with Porsche is about to end. Though a similar treatment for the Magic Pro Air is uncertain at present, as the details say, the Pro Air “may not be planned”.

How many models will actually debut with the Magic 9 series will become clear in the coming months.
