Honor testing OVB0D 200MP main camera for future flagship phones
Honor Magic 9 series is in the works and the company is currently testing an ultimate main camera sensor solution for the future flagship phones – OVB0D. The dynamic imaging lens is said to take over all the available top-end models in the market.
As noted by the tipster @DigitalChatStation, Honor is evaluating the highest main camera element – OVB0D in its laboratory for the upcoming flagship phones.
Whether this new imaging lens will show up with the Magic 9 series or any other high-end handset is currently uncertain. Although the tipster calls this imaging sensor – one of the best main camera solutions to date!
OVB0D is a massive 200MP flagship smartphone camera sensor developed on a 22nm process. It has a 1/1.1-inch imaging format, which significantly allows more light and improves the overall low-light performance with natural depth of field.
The new imaging sensor uses a second-generation Dual Conversion Gain and Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) that can effectively handle extremely high-contrast lighting. Besides, the advanced multi-frame processing reduces ghosting bugs.
Some other benefits of the OVB0D includes 400K electron full-well capacity that lets the sensor retain exceptional highlight and shadow details without cutting out bright environments. It also has a Bayer color filter for accurate image processing.
According to the tipster, the company has also started testing the next-generation telephoto lens. Perhaps these imaging solutions may show up with the Magic 9 series, which will likely debut in October this year.
