Kingdom Hearts Confirmed For D23 Event With Deep Dive Into The Series, But Don’t Expect Kingdom Hearts IV
The official D23 website has revealed that the Kingdom Hearts series will have a major presence the California-based event next month, although if it’s Kingdom Hearts IV you’re hoping for, you might want to keep those expectations in check.
According to the site, this year’s D23 event celebrate 25 years of the Square Enix RPG franchise with a look back at key creative minds and more. “Join us for a journey through light and darkness as we commemorate 25 years of KINGDOM HEARTS. Discover how this saga united Disney, Pixar, and Square Enix, with insights from the creative minds, character voices, and more behind the magic,” the blurb reads.
Kingdom Hearts originally released on the PS2 back in 2002 and combines elements of Disney and Square Enix franchises, such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, The Little Mermaid, Final Fantasy and more. Last month, Square Enix announced plans to release Kingdom Hearts Collection [I-III] later this year, which includes Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind.
Kingdom Hearts IV re-emerged after a long hiatus last month with a brand new trailer, although there’s still no release date in sight.
