Leeds-based Xentra secures €3.18 million to scale cybersecurity services for SMEs
Xentra, a Leeds-based digital security startup providing cybersecurity, safeguarding and compliance solutions to SMEs, has secured a €3.18 million (£2.7 million) investment from the Maven VCTs and NPIF II – Maven Equity Finance to support its next phase of growth.
This investment will enable the business to strengthen its senior leadership team, accelerate customer acquisition and aim to increase revenue from its existing customer base.
Henry Doyle, CEO of Xentra, said, “This investment gives us the resources to accelerate our growth plans and strengthen every part of the business. We have built Xentra by focusing on what matters most; expert advice, responsive support and solutions that genuinely help our customers manage increasingly complex cyber security, compliance and safeguarding requirements.
“The funding will allow us to invest in our people, our technology and our customer experience, ensuring we continue to deliver the high levels of service now expected as we scale. We are pleased to be partnering with Maven and NPIF II at this stage of our journey and look forward to building on what has already been a very strong few years.”
Xentra was founded in 2021 by Marc Fairclough as Fairtech Solutions. It rebranded to Xentra following an acquisition and strategic restructuring. The company delivers managed cybersecurity and digital protection services through a subscription-based model that helps organisations assess, implement and manage their security infrastructure.
Its core offering combines technology, managed services and specialist expertise through its STAX bundles and customer portal. The company notes that these integrated packages simplify the procurement and management of cybersecurity, compliance and safeguarding tools, enabling organisations to strengthen their digital resilience, reduce complexity and maintain around-the-clock protection against evolving threats.
“Xentra operates in an attractive and growing market with demand for outsourced, subscription-based cyber security driven by increasing cyber risk, regulatory standards and insurance requirements. Henry and the senior team have decades of experience in dealing with cyber vendors to allow them to find the right solutions for customers. The business has quadrupled ARR in the last two years alone across a customer database of over 90 and we are delighted to invest at this time as the business continues to scale,” said Lewis Jones, Investment Manager at Maven
With this funding, the company also plans to support continued investment in sales and marketing, while enabling the further development of Xentra’s proprietary customer portal and expansion of its STAX product suite. Together, these initiatives will strengthen the company’s modular, subscription-based offering, creating additional opportunities to attract new customers, increase customer retention and drive recurring revenue growth.
