Maple Grove Warehouse Deploys AI Robot Fleet

A Maple Grove fulfillment center has officially welcomed a new fleet of helpers to its warehouse floor—but they’re not the traditional worker.
Archway, a major supply chain company that handles logistics, signage and gift cards for clients across North America, has deployed 45 automated robots driven by “physical AI” to handle the heavy lifting of order fulfillment.
Archway officials were joined by representatives from its long-term partner, Blackhawk Network, and robotics developer Quicktron during a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony in Maple Grove to unveil the autonomous mobile robots.
Equipped with sensors and advanced programming, the robots maneuvered smoothly across the warehouse floor during a demonstration, frequently broadcasting automated safety warnings: “Robot in motion, rotation in progress. Please be cautious.”

A Massive Boost to Productivity
The technological upgrade is already yielding results. The robot fleet can sort and pack up to 7,200 gift card packages per hour, ensuring that grocery and retail shelves across the continent stay continuously stocked. According to company leadership, the integration of these automated helpers has boosted overall productivity by 300 percent.
While critics of rapid automation frequently warn that technology will inevitably displace human workers, Archway’s leadership views this deployment as an example of humans and technology collaborating rather than competing.
“Businesses and consumers want things faster, cheaper, and they want the orders to be always accurate,” said Archway CEO Manish Kapoor. “So we really are adapting to what the consumers are asking for, and giving the humans the right tools to be able to do that. It’s not replacing human beings.”
Beyond speed and efficiency, the company notes that the robots are a major win for workplace safety. By taking over high-injury, highly repetitive motions, the fleet allows human employees to pivot to more strategic roles while significantly reducing the risk of workplace strain.
