Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Update 1.005 Adds New Suits, Features
Insomniac Games has released Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update 1.005 (complete version 1.005.000) on PS5 and PC, and this adds new suits for free, as well as other features.
The big items here are a new spidey suit to mark the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in cinemas this month, as well as a suit for the character representing Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls — Sony’s first-party Marvel fighting game developed by Arc System Works.
Alongside those new suits, the game has also received the power saver feature and a graphical update for PS5 Pro owners.

Insominac Games released a statement regardng the patch and said, “Hey everyone! It’s a brand-new day for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! We just launched a fresh update that punches up our suit offerings for Peter Parker – among other new additions.”
• Added the MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls suit (Peter Parker)
• Added support for enhanced PSSR for PS5 Pro
• Added Power Saver mode for PS5 consoles
For those unfamiliar with this feature, you can enable the Power Saver option via Settings > System > Power Saving > Use Power Saver.
Sony describes this feature as “When you turn on this option, supported PS5 games will scale back performance*** and will allow your PS5 to reduce its power consumption. If not enabled, or if games do not support the feature, the performance will not be scaled back and power consumption will not be reduced.”
While Insomniac Games hasn’t said anything about Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 yet, we did run a report on how a new Venom game is in development at the studio.
The next project from the studio is Marvel’s Wolverine, which will claw its way out on September 15. The gameplay blowout released by Sony showcases how brutal it is compared to Spider-Man.
In other PlayStation news, gamers unhappy with Sony’s disc-less gaming future have called for a #PSBlackout in August, which you can read about to see if it aligns with your views.
