Ministry of IT to Roll Out Nationwide Asaan Khidmat Centers Framework

Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology has decided to develop a comprehensive nationwide framework for Asaan Khidmat Centers, aiming to standardize one-window citizen service centers across the country.

According to sources, the government is preparing to expand the Asaan Khidmat Center model beyond Islamabad and roll it out nationwide. The initiative will introduce uniform operational guidelines to ensure consistent service delivery and improve public access to government services across Pakistan.

As part of the expansion plan, the Ministry of IT has approved the extension of the Islamabad Asaan Khidmat Center into Block B, allowing the facility to accommodate additional government departments and offer a wider range of public services. The increased space will enhance the center’s capacity and improve service delivery for a larger number of citizens.

The ministry is also identifying vacant government buildings in Islamabad that can be converted into new one-window service centers. Under the plan, underutilized or abandoned public buildings will be renovated and repurposed, making government services more accessible throughout the federal capital.

In addition, the Ministry of IT is working with the governments of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir to establish similar Asaan Khidmat Centers, extending the Islamabad model to other regions of the country.

The nationwide framework aims to create a standardized operational system that will improve the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of public services. Under the one-window model, citizens will be able to access multiple government services under a single roof, reducing processing times and simplifying interactions with public institutions.

The government also plans to onboard additional departments, increasing the number of available services to more than 100 in the near future, further strengthening Pakistan’s efforts to modernize and streamline public service delivery.
