Mobile Call and Data Packages Get Costlier as Tariffs Rise by Up to 33%
Telecom operators in Pakistan have increased the prices of mobile calls, internet, and hybrid packages, with some tariffs rising by as much as 33%, according to details released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.
The PTA has published updated tariff information for 15 hybrid and data-only packages on its website, allowing consumers to review recent price changes across different mobile operators.
According to the published information, monthly call and data packages have become costlier by up to Rs 500, while the prices of 15-day packages have increased by as much as Rs 300.
Weekly hybrid packages have recorded increases of up to Rs 130. Three-day mobile packages have become more expensive by up to Rs 21, while two-day packages have increased by up to Rs 20.
The prices of one-day hybrid mobile packages have also risen by up to Rs 5.
The increases apply to packages offered for different durations and usage requirements, including plans that combine mobile calls, internet data, and other services.
The PTA has also improved the consumer awareness section of its website to make mobile tariff information clearer and more accessible.
The regulator said the newly published tariff sheets include the current prices, validity periods, and available services of 15 hybrid and data-only packages offered by mobile operators.
The sheets also provide details of quarterly price changes, enabling consumers to compare packages offered by different telecom companies more easily.
According to the PTA, the initiative is intended to help users understand changes in mobile tariffs and select packages according to their communication needs and budgets.
The authority said transparency in the telecom sector and the protection of consumer interests remain among its key priorities.
The latest price increases are expected to raise communication expenses for consumers who regularly use daily, weekly, 15-day, or monthly mobile call and internet packages.
