The latest funding round also saw participation from former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni through his family office, Midas Deals. Alongside the investment, Dhoni has been appointed as SolarSquare’s brand ambassador.

Founded in 2015, SolarSquare provides end-to-end rooftop solar solutions for homeowners, including system design, installation, financing, monitoring, and long-term maintenance. The company has installed rooftop solar systems in more than 50,000 homes across 29 cities and aims to accelerate residential solar adoption through its expanded operations.

The fresh capital will be used to broaden the company’s geographic footprint, enhance its digital platform, improve customer financing options, and strengthen after-sales service as demand for distributed renewable energy solutions continues to grow.

Commenting on the investment, Mahendra Singh Dhoni said the decision reflected confidence in India’s long-term clean energy transition, highlighting residential solar as an important contributor to the country’s energy security and sustainability goals.

SolarSquare Co-founder and CEO Shreya Mishra said the association with Dhoni aligns with the company’s focus on building long-term customer trust while supporting India’s transition towards cleaner energy sources.

The expansion comes amid rising electricity costs, supportive government policies, and increasing consumer interest in energy independence, all of which are driving growth in India’s residential rooftop solar market. SolarSquare, recognised in TIME Magazine’s World’s Best Greentech Companies 2025 and Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch 2025, is positioning itself to capitalise on the next phase of growth in the country’s distributed renewable energy sector.
